The German Football League has confirmed that 10 people from the top two divisions in the country have tested positive for COVID-19.
The DFL carried out around 1,700 coronavirus tests at 36 clubs since Thursday. It said the infected individuals are now due to go back into quarantine for 14 days, but did not identify the affected people or their clubs.
The German Football governing body added that a second round of tests would be carried out next week.
The Bundesliga is set to become the first major league in Europe to return to action, amid the coronavirus pandemic, but a proposed re-start date of May the 23rd could yet be pushed back due to a rise in cases.
